Flood waters make it to Limon

In a powerful storm that brought rain, hail and strong winds to most of Eastern Colorado, the Limon area lucked out and avoided the hail and tornado activity.

With up to five inches of rain falling in areas north and west of town, the Big Sandy is running for the first time this year.

Some significant road damage occurred on Highway 86, just west of Limon.

Areas of flooding washed out bridge supports and in one spot, lifted a small portion of a bridge deck.

CDOT Crews worked through the day on Sunday ensuring public safety and making repairs where necessary.
