Pirate Homecoming '13

Genoa-Hugo School Homecoming, September 20 and 21, 2013

Following School Spirit Week, which featured, among other things, Pajama Day and Twin Day, the Genoa-Hugo Homecoming will be celebrated on Friday by building floats. High School, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please check in for attendance before going to the float sites. Royalty practice will be at 1 p.m. with the 2nd grade attendants. Middle School, class as usual in the morning; float building in the afternoon. At 8 p.m., the Bonfire and Pep Rally will take place at the track. At this time, the King and Queen will be announced.
On Saturday, Parade Line-up is at 9 a.m. At 9:30, parade float judging will occur. The year’s theme is “TV Shows.” The Genoa-Hugo Homecoming Parade begins at 10 a.m. Pictures of the Homecoming royalty will follow the parade at the Lincoln Manor. Groundbreaking for the new school will also follow the parade, on the south side of the school. The Booster Club Lunch will be served in the school cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At 12:50 p.m., the Homecoming royalty will be presented, and the King and Queen will be crowned. At 1 p.m., the Pirates will face off against the Bethune Bobcats. At 6:30 p.m. the Alumni Banquet will take place in the school cafeteria. From 9 p.m. to midnight, the High School Student Dance will take place in the school cafeteria.

Voting has already taken place and the following will take their place in the 2013 Genoa-Hugo Homecoming Court. The 2nd Grade attendants are Caryn Hale and Trey Smith. Freshmen royalty are Samantha Herbert and Brandon Ravenkamp; Sophomore royalty are Taryn Book and Joseph Stephen, Junior royalty are Destiny Matthews and Bryson Herbert and Senior Royalty are Cindy Chambers, Cora Ravenkamp, Vincent Ayala and Matthew Dempsey.
