Extreme winds tear through eastern Colorado on Tuesday.
With wind gusts approaching 70 mph, and steady winds in the 45-55 mph range, travel is difficult, and several roads remain closed.
Hwy 40 / 287 is currently closed from Limon to Kit Carson, and Hwy 71 is closed from Limon to Ordway due to high winds, accidents and poor visibility.
I-70 was closed from Stratton to Burlington for a short while this morning due to visibility issues stemming from blowing dirt.
There have been two travel trailers blow over, and at least two tractor-trailer rigs blow over between Limon and Genoa.
We will post pictures here as they become available.
