Born November 9, 1926 in Miles City, Montana to John Dan LeValley and Nora (Rorvik) LeValley. Thomas spent his childhood in Miles City, Montana and surrounding areas. Thomas attended Circle High School in Montana and during his senior year in 1944, Thomas was drafted for WWII on the 25 of January to the United States Navy. He was called to active duty on March 22, 1944. Thomas served on the USS Corson AVP 37 from October 3, 1944 until January 19, 1946. Thomas changed ships to board the USS Greenwich Bay AVP 41 until the end of his service time. During his time in the Navy Thomas traveled to numerous locations around the world. Thomas was Honorably Discharged July 7, 1946 with the highest rating of EM2c (Electrician’s Mate Second Class) V-6 USNR.
After serving his country Thomas met and married his wife Donna Mae Sandburg on October 3, 1947. During their time together Thomas and Donna welcomed two sons and one daughter and lived in numerous locations but finally settled in 1974 on a family farm south of Limon, Colorado within the Hugo area.
Thomas continued his Naval trade as a Master Electrician while continuing running the family farm. Thomas lost his wife Donna in February 1998. Thomas continued to help locals with their electric needs until his retirement.
After retirement Thomas enjoyed working with his family and helping drive professional trucks with his son-in-law. Thomas enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren compete in sports, actively working with 4-H animals and watching his family grow with marriages and continuing generations.
Thomas peacefully passed in the comfort of his daughter’s home in Limon, CO on March 22, 2024.
Thomas is preceded in death by his father John, mother Nora, sister Mary Dana, grandson Chad, many aunts, uncles and grandparents and his loving wife of 50 years Donna Mae. Thomas is survived by sons Terry LeValley, Dan (Tammy) LeValley, Daughter Janet (Robert) Haley, grandchild Tom (Tonya) Haley, Kevin (Amanda) LeValley, Michelle (Randy) Nelson, Dani LeValley, Shyanne Haley, Dylan Haley and Evan Haley; followed by 7 great grandchildren and numerous loved ones and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Thomas LeValley on April 13th, 2024 on the south end of the community building. Potluck lunch will be served. Feel free to bring your favorite side dish. Tom’s Sundae Bar will be offered after lunch. The Military flag line will start at 10:30 a.m. and celebration will follow at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions should be made to the Joe Will VFW Post #6612 in Hugo, CO.
