DELMER G. DAVIS

Delmer G. Davis was born on April 28, 1937 to Kirby and Lena Davis on the home place near Agate, CO.

Delmer passed away on May 14, 2024 at the age of 87.

Delmer lived 85 of those 87 years on the home place.

He had to quit school when he was a

sophomore to run the farm for his parents, but that never stopped his learning. He was very

mechanically inclined and could weld anything.

He married Lydia (Guy) Davis on November 29, 1958. To this union, they had two children-Cinda Ross and Tod Davis.

Besides working on the farm, he had jobs that included Nichols Tillage Tools in Simla and the Elbert County Maintenance Department which he retired from after 20+ years of employment. He loved to work on lawnmowers and making garden/weeding tools. He enjoyed his garage and every person that would stop by to visit or needed something fixed.

He was a member of the Agate Community Church, served on the Agate School Board, and the Board of the Agate Telephone Company.

He is survived by his daughter, Cinda (Kevin) Ross from McGrew, NE and son, Tod (Gina) Davis from Agate, CO. His granddaughters, Kalena (Noah) Perry and Candace (Colton) Ehler from Bayard, NE. His great grandsons, Kalvin Perry, Kyle Perry, Grady Smith and Klay Davis Ehler. Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Vince and Sherry Guy of Centennial, CO and Larry and Terry Naggatz of Greeley, CO. Also nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by Delmer’s wife, Lydia, of almost 63 years, his parents, Kirby and Lena Davis, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbar and Jessie Guy. Sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Don Peppel. Brother-in-law, Harold Guy and sister-in-law, Vickie Sanders.
