MABEL M. DRY

Mabel Marie Dry, 93, of Auburn, Neb. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022 at the Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb. Mabel was born on March 3, 1929 in Rock Port, Mo. to Elbert and Edris (Bentley) Waugh. On August 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Dry. To this union were born five daughters – Roberta, Debbie, Dana, Nancy and Caranel. The couple farmed and started their family in Corning, Mo. before moving to Washington where they lived for 17 years while both working for the Boeing Corporation. In 1971, they moved back to the family farm with their three youngest daughters. Mabel worked for Southeast Nebraska Developmental Services (SENDS) for 20-plus years. Mabel was a strong and faithful Christian. Her loving spirit and care for others reflected her deep faith in God. Her humor and joyous laughter were appreciated by so many. She was an avid gardener and won many awards for her beautiful flowers. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob, brothers Charlie and Clifford Waugh, a sister Anna Mae Husing, great- granddaughter Caroline Ann Carris and son-in-law Jim Ohlensehlen. Mabel is survived by her five daughters: Roberta Dry of Limon, Colo.; Debbie Ohlensehlen of Mound City, Mo.; Dana Tubbs and husband Tom of Bigelow, Mo.; Nancy Miller and husband John of Mound City, Mo.; Caranel Crouse and husband Larry of Limon, Colo.; grandchildren: Renia Hull, Forrestter Michael, Mary Bohling, Andrea and Keith West, Michael and Cami Carris, Chris Tubbs and fiance’ Bonnie Long, Brian and Kodi Tubbs, Mark and Brie Tubbs, David and Masie Crouse and Clayton and Kristina Crouse, 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 at the First Christian Church, 502 5th Street in Mound City, Mo. with Pastor Kailea Nauman officiating. Visitation with family greeting friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Mound City, Mo. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Craig, Mo.
