Posted

Susan Fey (Morrow) Leach was born in Chico CA on July 24 1945 to Wilma (Mize) Morrow and Loren Morrow. She and her older sister, Kay, spent their childhood living in Northern California small communities such as Modoc, Bidwell, Wyandotte, and Pence. Sue graduated from Oroville High School in 1963. She then attended Heald Business College in Oakland, CA. While in the Bay Area, Susan lived with her sister and became active in the community little theater.

Returning to Oroville, Sue married Edgar Ross and had daughter Sharon (Shari). After divorcing, Sue married John Leach on January 11, 1970. They soon moved to Eastern Colorado where John was raised, living in Bovina, Lindon, Genoa, Punkin Center and, finally, returning to the Lindon area.

Sue worked as the school secretary for Woodlin School District from 1976-1980. She then worked as the office administrator for the Colorado State Patrol Limon office from 1981 until her retirement in 2007. Throughout her life, she remained a county farm girl, gardening, driving wheat trucks and tractors, hauling hay, taking care of animals (often in the house), and raising her African violets.

After retirement, Sue became even more busy. She was an active member of National Association of Women Highway Safety Leaders, Colorado Farm Bureau, Bethel Community Church of the Brethren, and Last Chance Quilters.

Sue is survived by her husband of 55 years, John, her daughter Shari (Irwin) Kirmer, stepdaughters Yvette (Larry) Intermill, and Jessica (Patrick) Jenkins, stepsons Shawn (Sheryl) Leach, and Todd (Maureen) Leach, her sister, Kay Mladinich, her loving grandchildren and myriad of family and friends.
